Geek Girl Halloween Costumes 2012 - Pretty Acceptable Actually

We all know that Halloween costumes for women are notorious for being unnecessarily sexy and usually pretty inaccurate. However it appears, at least for 2012, there are some pretty decent offerings. Now, most of these aren't super accurate but they are definitely ok for a one night party. You could probably even modify some of these for convention use!

I shopped at Party City for all the below costumes but make sure you shop around. All of these items are heavily produced around Halloween time and can be found all over including Ebay and Amazon. Also, always google for coupon codes before you buy. There are tons floating around especially during October to help you save.

Arkham Asylum and Original Harley Quinn Costumes.

Dark Knight Rises Catwoman and Poison Ivy. The ears on the Catwoman have got to go but otherwise the catsuit itself is not bad! It even had a nice pattern in the close up shot. It's nice to see a different take on a Poison Ivy costume, I think this could even work with a pair of wings and be a forest fairy or nymph.

Sad to see Silk Spectre on clearance, guess the Watchmen craze has had it's time.  The Supergirl costume I imagine is a best seller every year, I always see girls at Comic Con wearing this. It's actually a fairly cute costume!

Mario and Luigi. I'm so over the mustache craze but it works for these costumes.

Mileena and Kitana from Mortal Kombat. Not bad actually!

Spider-Man and Thor. There is something I like about this Spider-Man dress, with a bit of altering I can see this working for everyday wear!

She-Rah and Ghostbuster. This She-Ra costume is probably my fave from the bunch. At least from the online photos the quality is pretty great for a cheapy Halloween costume. The Ghostbuster is a bit on the hoochie side but I think it's pretty cute...

What are your plans for Halloween? Do you know what you're dressing up as?
